Pat Milbery Now On Arbor

ARBOR SNOWBOARDS WELCOMES PAT MILBERY TO THE TEAM

Venice, CA – February 20, 2009 – Arbor Snowboards is proud to announce that Pat Milbery has joined its team as the newest member of the Arbor Collective.  Pat grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, the land of hills, ice and tow ropes. It was there that he built up a strong tolerance for icy landings and battered tailbones, which helped make him the well-rounded rider that he is today. In 2001, Pat relocated to Breckenridge, Colorado where he stepped up his game in the mighty Rocky Mountains.  Pat now lives in Denver, Colorado and calls Winter Park his home resort.

“I couldn’t be more stoked to have a guy like Pat Milbery on the Arbor team,” said Arbor Team Manager, Ken Perkins. “He gives brings amazingly positive energy on and off the hill.  Pat is the hardest working guy in snowboarding.”

Milbery has been filming for Think Thank, with parts in Stack Footy and Thanks Brain, and he is now shooting for their new release, Cool Story.  “I linked up with Jesse Burtner and Sean Genoveese of Think Thank about three years ago,” says Milbery. “They respect my creativity and they’re open to my nontraditional approach to film parts.  They are changing the way snowboard movies are made a little more each season, and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Arbor Releases 2009 Summer Apparel

Bamboo…because it’s freakin’ comfortable! Oh yeah, and it’s ultra green.

Venice, CA – April 22, 2009 – The Arbor Collective has released its new apparel line for spring and summer 2009. The line highlights Arbor’s ongoing use of bamboo-based fabrics; bamboo being the best way Arbor has found to create style, comfort, and function for a life based around surf, skate, and snow.

Deep shades, vibrant earth tones, storied art, strong logos, and modern fits set the style and fashion tone for Arbor’s new spring/summer line. “This line is the best representation yet of what we’re doing at the Collective. We’ve drawn on all of our resources to deliver fit, feel, and function blended with artistic and environmental solutions,” said Bob Carlson, Arbor’s cofounder.

Working with bamboo has allowed Arbor to, once again, enhance its designs, while significantly reducing its impact on the environment. To that end, 98% of the new spring-summer apparel is now made using this fabric. “We believe that bamboo is the most environmentally friendly fabric available.  It provides a rare combination of eco and performance benefits that make it today’s most promising alternative,” added Carlson.

ARBOR COLLABORATES WITH BLAINE FONTANA

The artist brings his contemporary blend of urban-organic surrealism to the new Mindstate and Koa Pin.

Venice, CA – June 23, 2009 – The Arbor Collective is proud to announce the release of two new skateboards designed in collaboration with artist, Blaine Fontana. Arbor’s new Mindstate and Koa Pin now feature original artwork from this influential lowbrow artist. His self-described contemporary blend of urban-organic surrealism adds powerful imagery to each of these important models.

The new Mindstate is a compact pintail shape and the latest addition to Arbor’s popular Flex Series. It has a slightly concave fiberglass-reinforced design that was developed to deliver a fun, energetic ride with loads of rebound for ultra-responsive turning. Fontana created a graphic for the Mindstate that reflects aspects of the Arbor state-of-mind.

The Koa Pin is a classic tapered carver that features a huge wheelbase for maximum stability at speed and a wider, concave midsection for deep, open-stance, lock-n-hold skating. Fontana produced a graphic for the Koa Pin that speaks to Arbor’s roots.

“Blaine Fontana is one of my favorite artists,” says Bob Carlson, Arbor’s Co-Founder. “I believe he is creating highly original views of some of life’s more subtle elements. I’m stoked we have this opportunity to work with him and add a bit of his vision to the Arbor Collective.”
