HOMETOWN: Mission Viejo, CA
YEARS SKATEBOARDING: I learned my first kickflip 13 years ago and I haven’t stopped skating since. Thanks to my parents for getting me that first setup at a swap meet back in the day!
WHO ELSE HELPS YOU OUT: Caliber Trucks and Volante Wheels support me with gear and help me out with events. Thanks to Blake Smith, Dave Tannaci, and Brandon Stewart for being so supportive! I also get flow from Timeship Racing, and Jack’s Board House in Southern Oregon.
WHAT’S IN YOUR QUIVER: Currently I am using a Backlash for downhill and a Shakedown 36 for everything else. Caliber 44’s and Serratas/Checkers and Venom Bushings complete the rigs.
PREFERRED STYLE OF SKATEBOARDING: Flow is the most appealing feeling in skating. Whether it’s flowing lines in the park or down runs its all fun!
WHAT’S YOUR LOCAL ZONE: Medford, Oregon has an awesome public skatepark and a few decent downhill runs.
WORST HABIT: Flatspotting/ Ovaling wheels
BIGGEST PET PEEVE: Slamming at the skate park.
WORST ACCIDENT: Tore my ACL in my right knee a few years ago and didn’t ride a skateboard for a whole year.
BEST PART OF SKATING: Skating takes the pain away! Nothing seems to hurt and everything works when I’m skating, so if I want to live to be a hundred years old, I should probably keep skating.
LAMEST PART: Skating has caused most of my serious injuries.
BEST EVENT: Cathlamet Downhill Corral 2013 went off! We built way too many ramps and everyone had a blast for 3 straight days of non-stop, competitive skating. The boarder cross in particular was fast and included a 25ft launch ramp at the end. It was epic.
FAVORITE VIDEO: “Boomtown Bombin’” with Alec Whitman and Ross “The Boss” Druckery gets me pretty stoked to skate.
ONE THING EVERY SKATER SHOULD KNOW: If you’re not having fun while skating, you’re doing it wrong.
