Sawa is a photographer that was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her photography usually lends itself to an erotic nature, but also creates surreal moments. Many of her photos are like stills out of a movie, or off the wall portraits from the apocalypse. While her favorite pastimes used to be time-lapse and underwater photography, Sawa has recently undergone many missions to foreign countries to document the graffiti cultures, guts, and girls abroad.
Sawa believes you should always make eye contact when toasting drinks together. She gets her inspiration from the streets of Los Angeles, music, snowboarding, religious iconography, idols, and birds. She has been showing in galleries since 2000 and working in the motion picture business since 2003.
Following in Arbor’s tradition of graphics collaborations with prolific artists, the 2015 Relapse features photography from Venice, CA based artist, Sawa. Known for her travel documentary, “Get Her!”, and years of work with the Suicide Girls, Sawa specializes in documenting alternative expressions of beauty featuring unique pin-up girls from around the world.
