Top Arbor skater, James Kelly the American Dream, has amazed us all with his unique ability to ride fast and do it with style. In this short video (filmed and edited by Jack Boston), we see first hand what it means to be the best in downhill. Watch James skate his Vugenhausen 50 mph through hairpin turns while making the most technical stand up slides look easy. James continues to prove why he is a total force in freeride skating.
The Highground is a tapered topmount that was designed to be a force on the racecourse; a speedboard that features a range of wheelbase positions, unique concave shaping techniques, and carefully placed flares that provide leverage points, and keep you locked in.
The Vügenhausen is a top mount built for speed. It offers superior traction and leverage over your trucks for race level performance. A stiff, symmetrical platform and gas pedals give you superior turn and drift control, with a micro drop and rocker for locked-in performance.
Arbor Skateboards Team riders went for it this weekend at the Whistler Longboard Festival with two podium placings. James Kelly grabbed a second place finish in the Downhill race, and Tyler Howell is on a winning spree, taking first place in the Big Air and Freestyle Jam. With just enough direction, the team manages to meet up with Zarosh Eggleston in the sticks of Central California. An hour of dirt roads later, and they’re at his ranch enjoying his DIY spot, the relaxed lifestyle, and the local watering hole.
Another big weekend was celebrated by Arbor’s Skate Team. James Kelly won the Angie’s Curves Race in San Diego on his Arbor Vugenhausen, with Duke Degen taking second place on the new Highground. The Arbor Skateboards team continues north on their road trip up the coast of the Golden State, and pulls out into farm country for Day 2 of Get Elevated. Things get crowded and sketchy on a road with no name and center divider. Everyone stays safe and in their lane and the crew ends the day with a dune surfing session.
