The New Shakedown Series

Influenced by team rider, Kody Noble, Arbor has developed a new series of skateboards designed around enabling riders to skate whatever they like, whenever they like. The Shakedown comes in three sizes including a 32, 35, and 38 inch deck. Each skateboard has a kick tail and nose and an appropriately paired wheelbase and width. Riders can simply pick a size suited to their comfort and style and then get to shredding parks, streets, hills, boardwalks, cities and everything else in between.

“If you limit yourself to one style of skateboarding,” says Noble, “then you’re not allowing yourself to explore all of the possibilities out there. This new Shakedown series allows you to skate anything you want and they are so fun to ride.” Noble worked closely with Los Angeles based artist, Shawn McKinney to choose a graphic that exemplifies the outlaw nature of skateboarding and this is well represented in the new series.

“We believe that a big part of the future of this sport is in street and freeride crossover,” says Arbor marketing director, Brad Farmer, “therefore, we felt compelled to construct a series of skateboards that would perform extremely well for this style of riding. Working with Kody was the perfect opportunity to create a solid offering as he personifies this side of the sport for Arbor. With his guidance, we feel that we now offer a skateboard that will crush it in this category.”

Arbor’s complete new 2012 skateboard line is now available including the Shakedown series and several other options for all styles of riding and riders.

Arbor Eco Update: Sustainable & Reclaimed Wood

All of the wood material used in Arbor’s skateboard designs, including the maple plies and veneer deck, come from sustainable sources of supply.  All of the wood byproduct created during the production of our skateboards is reclaimed for use by outside companies or in other Arbor products like belt buckles, hang tags, and zipper pulls.  This allows Arbor to stretch an important resource, while helping to reduce the strain on landfills and forests.

New Arbor Skateboards Slide Gloves

Arbor Skateboards is pleased to present our new Signature Slide Glove. The gloves feature neoprene in the cuff and knuckles, which keeps the glove from binding and being uncomfortable. The upper section is made from hemp, one of the world’s most ecologically friendly materials. Hemp is rugged and holds it shape better than almost every other fabric, meaning your gloves are sturdy and will retain their “glove-like” fit for the duration of their life. Hemp is also soft and has excellent breathability, which means your hands will be cool and comfy while you enjoy the ride.

Additional Features

  • Reflective Arbor screen print on forehand
  • High density finger prints for additional grip
  • 3MM anti vibration foam under the palm
  • Reinforcement in high-wear areas around the cuff

THE 2012 ARBOR SKATEBOARD COLLECTION

The Arbor Collective is proud to present its new 2012 skateboard line. Coming off a year off record sales, one would think the company would have left well enough alone but this is not the case. The design crew, in collaboration with Arbor’s expanded skateboard team, completely overhauled the collection. “We invested the success the brand has enjoyed over the years into a progressive, highly versatile, more cutting-edge offering that reflects today’s rapidly evolving skateboard market,” said Bob Carlson, Arbor’s President.

Every model in the new line embodies, to one degree or another, this massive design effort. Twelve older models were dropped; eleven new shapes have been introduced; ten shapes have been redesigned or expanded; a host of new technologies have been added; and a range of new artists have been introduced. The end result, is one of the best new skateboard offerings on the market. Arbor customers can look for broader collaborations between the team and veteran Arbor Collective artists; a continued commitment to sustainable materials; and redoubled customer service and support effort.

“We are pumped about this new collection,” says Arbor Skateboards Marketing Director, Brad Farmer. “We nailed it. The new offering is another important step forward for the brand. Whether you want to cruise the boardwalk, freeride your local hills, push through the city, crossover to street or park, or explore the limits of the downhill riding, we have the skateboard for you.”

Presented in two collections, Roots and Icon, the line has something every rider. Among the highlights this year are the new Shakedown Series of double kick hybrid shapes, a greatly expanded downhill lineup featuring the new Prodigy and Cypher and smaller version of the Vugenhausen, a new composite style double kick, drop trough freestyle series called the Catalyst, and the Zeppelin featuring Gullwing Sidewinder trucks.
