Uncertain Journey Episode 3

When it’s not really snowing anywhere else in North America, you typically can’t lose by heading to the Northwest to seek out the massive storms that pound Washington state. The Arbor crew including rider, Mark Reininga filmer, Matt Devino and TM, Brad Farmer meet up with the Hot Lava crew including Arbor regional rider, Rayn Mclaughlin, Ian Wright and friend, Max Mcindoe at Stevens Pass. And it snowed…a lot. Powder days are here again in this the third episode of Arbor’s Somewhat Uncertain Journey of 2012.

Arbor FACE/OFF at Boreal April 14th

Arbor Snowboards is proud to announce the return of the FACE/OFF amateur and open rail competition at Boreal Mountain Resort on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Arbor team riders, Nick Visconti, Scotty Vine, Sean Black, Ian Sams, Sammy Spiteri, Brandon Hammid, Eli Weiner, Mark Reininga and more will be at the event to ride with competitors and judge the event. “The event went amazingly well at Bear Mountain last year and now we couldn’t be more stoked to be bringing the FACE/OFF to the Lake Tahoe area and Boreal Mountain,” says Arbor’s marketing director, Brad Farmer.

The FACE/OFF will include a 60 minute jam qualifier round which up to 100 competitors of any age, sex and ability may enter. There will be awards and huge prize packs for the top three females, males ages 16 and under and males 17 and over. Fifteen of the top open class riders will be selected to advance to a final round in which the riders will FACE/OFF in games of SNO until the last man is standing. The top three will score prize packs including a new Arbor skateboard with third place snagging $100, second grabbing $300 and first will take away $600 and a new Arbor Draft Snowboard. “The format for this event has wildly exceeded our expectations and created a very exciting event. Once it gets down to the final 15 riders, the event becomes intense as competitors battle it out for the victory. In the end, there is no question about who won the event.”

Last season’s winner, Erik Leon will be back to defend his title and DJ Jokzilla of Fat Beats LA will make a return to the turntables. All riders should be aware that helmets are required at Boreal events. The Arbor FACE/OFF is proudly sponsored by Red Bull, Boreal Mountain Resort, Electric Visual, Flux Bindings, Sessions, Arieal7, Sand Box Helmets, Arnette and Elm Company. The event is dedicated to the memory of legendary terrain park builder, Miah Peably who worked with Snow Summit, Bear Mountain, Mountain High, Northstar and Snow Park Technologies building parks for world class events including the Dew Tour, Winter X Games and countless high profile film and photos shoots.

Registration: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
